In addition, the marching band is competitive in the UIL Marching Contest, the Birdville Marching Festival, the Classic Festival on the Lake, Plano Marching Festival, and the Plano Drum Line Festival.
In the spring, the marching band is divided into two ability based concert bands. The concert band program in Argyle has enjoyed a rich tradition of excellence. The Wind Ensemble and the Symphonic Band perform a Winter Concert, a Spring Concert, a reach-out concert at a nearby retirement community in addition to the various contests and festivals they attend. The Argyle High School band students have set and hold the record for the most number of All-State students in the Association for Texas Small School Bands All-State Band. In the spring semester, high school band students participate in the UIL Solo and Ensemble contest, UIL Concert and Sight-reading contest, Choice Music Festivals, and perform a Spring Concert.
The Argyle Band program is fortunate to have a very active Band Booster organization which serves a vital role in the instrumental music program. This strong music program is a joint effort between parents, students, administrators, community, and teachers.
